Doctors are practicing reimbursement based medicine and not evidence based medicine.

Attending Futuremed this year at the Hotel Coronado this year was an eye opener and reaffirmed much of what I learned over the years by the top innovators and healthcare professionals from around the world. Why would I write an article on this theme and what does this have to do with transhumanism? Well one important point I wanted to make was if you want to make it to the singularity you have to take care of your own health and educate yourself on the latest trends and problems with the medical system in America today. So what was one of the most important themes from futuremed that I felt wouldn’t get the attention it deserved? I think what stuck with attendees of  Futuremed that I hope they take away is what people like Dr. Dean Ornish said this year. His goal was to educate people that medicine has become extremely insane in the way its practiced. Doctors today are mostly practicing reimbursement based care and not evidence based medicine. All this technology and exponential technology is great at diagnostics, however physicians are increasingly turning to what insurers will pay for instead of what the  science says. Case in point Heart disease, diabetes and cancer. These three diseases are eating up our healthcare costs and all three are completely reversible and preventable in the first place. We as a nation are spending 70-80% of our healthcare costs on chronic problems like this. The pharmaceutical corporations are making roughly 700-800 billion dollars this year and its unsustainable, irresponsible and not evidence based to drug people with prescription meds that kill more people each year than all illegal substances combined.

Dr. Dean Ornish- met Dr. Ornish, one of my heroes in the medical field and was stunned by his thorough speech and medical evidence he’s published and cited most from the New England Journal of Medicine that the most important and potent way to reverse heart disease, diabetes, and cancer is most effectively done with a complete overhaul of diet. In fact in his over 30 years, he’s proven that eating a low glycemic diet, eliminating sugar and processed foods and trans-fats from diets completely reverses heart disease and is far more effective than anything else in reversing prostate cancer in men.

Even his in his website he cites, Dr. Ornish’s Program for Reversing Heart Disease was the first program  to reverse heart disease without drugs or surgery.

What I found astonishing is that since January 2011, after 16 years of internal and external review, Medicare has been covering Dr. Ornish’s Program for Reversing Heart Disease under a new benefit category, “intensive cardiac rehabilitation.”  Medicare will reimburse certified providers of the 72 hour training program for patients who have coronary heart disease.  Many private insurance companies also cover this program, reimbursing for patients who have coronary heart disease and for patients who only have risk factors for coronary heart disease.

People are empowered with a proven program that can quickly reverse their heart disease and other chronic conditions, allowing them to sustainably transform their lives for the better. Overall adherence to Dr. Ornish’s Program after one year in hospitals and clinics that have offered it has been 85‑90%.

However stenting, bypass and all these expensive procedures are a temporary band aid that don’t work, nor solve the root cause of heart disease, which is sugar and inflammation.

Ray Kurzweil gave a great speech this time at futuremed which was all new. I’ve seen Kurzweil speak close to 30 times and its was refreshing to hear him evolve into a new dialogue for health care practitioners. Having read his latest health book Transcend: Nine steps to live well Forever, I knew Kurzweil himself doesn’t believe the mainstream hogwash of misinformation perpetuated by the pharmaceuticals and pseudoscience commercials pushing drugs and treatments that don’t work. Case in point Kurzweil spoke on his latest research on cancer treatments. Kurzweil maintained that chemotherapy does kill cancer cells along with all cells but doesn’t kill the cancer stem cells which are ROOT CAUSE of the cancer in the first place. How many times have you heard someone undergo chemotherapy only to hear within five years it returns and even worse and this time all over the body. They never killed the cancer stem cells that’s why. Also why would anyone undergo poisoning themselves to death in the first place. Mis-information that’s why. The way chemotherapy works and doctors push it in the first place is because the pharmaceutical industry sells doctors chemo therapy at around 5000 bucks let’s say approximately for argument’s sake, then they resell that to the patient for 10000 dollars. Moreover, the insurance industry is happy to pay that bill and doctors and the industry are happy. This is called reimbursement medicine and not evidence based medicine. Doctors could not prescribe changing diet, or recommend that patients are deficient in vitamin D3 and calcium and magnesium without being called a quack.

The largest study ever done that the root cause of all cancers is anerobism. Dr. Otto Warburg discovered this many decades ago, and won two Nobel prizes. The root cause of all cancers is glucose fermentation and under anerobic conditions. There is no disease that scientists know more about the cause and cure about than cancer were Dr. Warburg’s words over half a century ago. In fact the largest study out of Australia and the USA came out a decade ago proving that Chemotherapy doesn’t work except on 3 cancers, pediatric leukemia and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and testicular cancer. I’d highly recommend reading the PDF below if anyone has any doubts about chemotherapies effectiveness. The study undertook a literature search for randomized clinical trials which saw a 5-year survival rate that was attributed solely to cytotoxic chemotherapy in adult malignancies. The data was taken from the cancer registry in Australia and from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results data in the USA for 1998. As stated, the final results show that the overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA.

Finally according to Kurzweil, unless we use targeted stem cell therapies to replace the cancer stem cells with healthy ones, which is possible today, in fact a family friend underwent this procedure, along with alkalinizing their diet to reverse prostate cancer, and didn’t have to suffer the hair loss, surgery or Nazi-like war crimes of poisoning people to death for profits over cures, it makes you question the way medicine is practiced. After meeting every top doctor and hearing the top physicians, oncologists, seeing the evidence and attending conferences like FutureMed and reading the medical literature, I think people begin to ask questions. Once you wake up and ask the right ones and question the status quo, question your doctors and take charge of your health, read the medical evidence find a program and stick to it, you will you make it to the singularity. The most important thing you can tell your family and friends is that the future is going to be better than you think, you have to be proactive about your health to make it and take advantage of all the exponential technologies. The reason I wrote this article is because heart disease, diabetes and cancer are eating 80% of our health GDP on these chronic illnesses that are 100% reversible and preventable with better nutrition and simply low glycemic diets, this is the best thing I figured I can do to propagate this knowledge to my singulatarian and Trans-humanist friends.
