Here Comes Photorealistic Virtual Reality

Ever since I sold my virtual reality software company to graphics software pioneer MetaTools, I’ve imagined a future photorealistic virtual reality capability based on real time ray tracing. Our technology at that time became part of the Bryce animation tool, providing real time hardware acceleration for previews. But with advances in GPUs, real time ray and path tracing (a related technique) are now a reality.  Here’s a video update on the state of the art.
