Taking human society up to the next level requires that we master travel within our solar system and gain access to the incredible resources it contains. NASA's leadership role in these endeavors is moreover critical to maintaining our place as a global technology  and science power.

    Given the rapid advances of private organizations (e.g. SpaceX) I'm not convinced that throwing more money at NASA is economically sound.
