Nominations must be made by Friday, January 18, 2013. Voting for takes place over 10 days. The poll opens on February 1 at 12:00 noon PST and closes on February 10 at 12:00noon PST.

Important Dates:

Jan 3: Call for Nominations.
A person can nominate him/herself or nominate another party. All nominees must be in good standing as full members of Humanity+.

Jan 18: Cut-off for all nominees to submit their Candidate Statement and picture
Candidate Statement is a 300 –350 word text that explains why you want to run for the board, your background and projects, and what you can bring to the organization.
Picture must be a current representation of candidate at 130×130 pixels. Send to Candidate Statement and picture to secretary@humanityplus.org

Jan 18: Nominations Close at 12:00 noon PST.
All Candidate Statements and pictures are made public and available on the Humanity+ website

Jan 18 – 31 Candidates Campaign
Campaigning includes discussions on the voting email list, as well as other related lists. While Humanity+ has no set rules for campaigning, it encourages all candidates to positively discuss what they offer. Humanity+ discourages negative campaigning and intimidation, paying for votes and/or trading services for votes.

Suggested Campaign Strategy:
• Encourage friends to join Humanity+ as full members;
• Help build the discussion on the election email list;
• Talk about issues openly and brainstorm solutions; and
• Remind members to vote!

Feb 1: Election Open for Voting at 12:00 PM noon PST
Feb 10: Voting Closes at 12:00 PM noon PST
Feb 10: Election results announced
