"Oh Rosie, can you bring me my slippers?"

It was the title of an h+ magazine piece by Surfdaddy Orca about a Stanford AI Project… but as Orca wrote:

Mahru-Z (R), a robot developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology picks up a sandwich in Seoul. Photo: cdn.physorg.com"Rosie, the Jetsons’ maid robot, is a sweet, nurturing cartoon robot. Not only does she bring George his slippers, she washes his clothes, teaches his son to dribble a basketball, and sings while vacuuming the rug… (but) The Stanford Artificial Intelligence Robot (STAIR) looks more like tubular shelving on a Segway than a robotic maid."

Well, it looks like we may have a humanoid looking Rosie soon. According to physorg.com:

"Zahru-Z (R), a robot developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology picks up a sandwich in Seoul. South Korean scientists have developed a walking robot maid which can clean a home, dump clothes in a washing machine and even heat food in a microwave… Mahru-Z has a human-like body including a rotating head, arms, legs and six fingers plus three-dimensional vision to recognise chores that need to be tackled, media reports said Monday"
