Bold New Theme for WoodstockIt may not be as fun as sliding around in the mud naked on acid, but it may be at least as intellectually stimulating.  The Woodstock film festival announces a "Transhumanist" theme.

From Hudson Valley’s Times Herald-Record:

"The Woodstock Film Festival has announced a bold new theme for its 10-year anniversary: Transhumanism. It will premiere two media focused on the world of artificial intelligence and transhumanism: ’2B,; directed by Richard Kroehling (world premiere) and a feature-length pilot of Syfy Channel’s upcoming series ‘Caprica.’ A panel discussion will follow.

The panel mentioned in my above post will be hosted by James Hughes, and will include Ray Kurzweil and Martine Rothblatt.   "We have an announcement. The brown blotter Resveratrol is specifically not too good."

http://code.google.com/p/mindforth/wiki/MileStones is how far we have gotten towards Cyborg transhumanism.
